As promised late last month, today Asus has taken the wraps off its newest tablet, and it’s a pretty high-end one in fact. The ZenPad 3S 10 became official at an event in Taiwan a few hours ago, and it will go on sale in Asus’ home market starting on August 1. Over there it will be priced at TWD 11,000, which means around $342 or €309 at the current exchange rates.
So what do you get for that amount of cash? Pretty much, actually. The ZenPad 3S 10 has a 9.7-inch touchscreen with 4:3 aspect ratio and 2,048×1,536 resolution (like the iPads and theSamsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, for example).
It’s powered by MediaTek’s MT8176 SoC, which features a hexa-core CPU with two Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.6 GHz. The GPU is the PowerVR GX6250 clocked at 600 MHz.
The tablet also sports 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP selfie shooter, a USB Type-C port, and a 5,900 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow underneath the Asus ZenUI. Its dimensions are 240.5 x 163.7 x 5.8-7.16 mm, and it weighs 430g.
