So far ZTE has officially announced just one member of the Nubia Z11 family, namely the Z11 Mini (which got official in April). But it looks like the company is busy working on two additional Z11-branded phones, which should be unveiled in the near future.
Both of these have recently been certified for sale in China by TENAA, that country’s FCC equivalent. And like always in these cases, that means we’re treated to a few pictures of each device, along with a list of their most important specs.
First off we have the Nubia Z11, seen above. This sports a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor (the chipset used is probably the Snapdragon 617, which is also inside the Z11 Mini), 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 16 MP rear camera with LED flash, an 8 MP selfie snapper, and a 2,900 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Its measurements are 151.8 x 72.3 x 7.75 mm and it weighs 162g.
Next up, the Nubia Z11 Max – which is an even bigger phablet, as its name implies. It’s graced with a 6-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and the same 16 MP / 8 MP camera setup as both the Z11 and the Z11 Mini. The Max features a 4,000 mAh battery and is probably powered by the Snapdragon 652 SoC. Its dimensions are 159.15 x 82.25 x 7.4 mm. It should run Lollipop just like its sibling, in both cases hidden underneath ZTE’s own UI.
As you can see, these two Z11 family members come with full metal builds (save for some small plastic panels hiding antennas), unlike the “metal frame in between two sheets of glass” sandwich that is the Z11 Mini. Both new Z11 models come with a fingerprint scanner on the back, and faux-bezelless display panels. 4G LTE connectivity will be built into both, as you may assume.
