Imagine a solar panel small enough to fit in your palm, with the power to charge your phone every night. This concept might not be too far away.
The Window Socket, created by Kyuho Song and Boa Oh, stores the sun’s energy in its battery and lets you charge a device in the back for up to 10 hours with 100W. We can see our employees putting these on their windows during the day and using them at night to charge their smartphones or tablets, so this idea really grabs our attention. Every bit of energy we can take off the power grid and replace with clean energy is a huge win in our books.
The window socket is made to be as small and easy to use as it can be. To have clean energy whenever you need it, remove it from your window and put it in your bag or purse. A 1000mAh battery would power the device, which could power a mobile phone or other portable device.
