It looks like the rumors about the upcoming Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch have been true. The Korean company has started sending out invites for an event at IFA in Berlin on September 1. And while the Gear S3 isn’t mentioned by name in the invite (which you can see to the left), the clock hands in it kind of give the whole thing away.
We have previously heard that the Gear S3 will get official in early September. At the same event we may even see the Galaxy Tab S3 tablets being introduced, since that’s also been rumored not long ago.
The Gear S3 should keep the round shape of its predecessor, as well as the rotary bezel. Furthermore, it might come with an altimeter, a barometer, and a GPS-based speedometer, thus enhancing upon the tracking abilities of the Gear S2. There will be a Classic version too, and both will run Tizen of course.
