Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones have started receiving an over-the-air (OTA) update in India which brings various improvements.
User reports indicate that the update is currently rolling out steadily in India and can be expected to be available to all users by end of the week. Users can manually check for the update via Settings > About Phone > System Update. The new update comes with software build G930FXXU1BPIO/G935FXXU1BPIO for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge respectively. The update is less than 150MB in size for both the smartphones.
The software update for both the Samsung smartphones bring device stability improvements, bug fixes, new enhanced features, and further improvements to performance, as per the update release notes. The new update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge also bring Wi-Fi calling support and includes September Android security update.
The South Korean company back in August dropped the prices the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India. The two smartphones received price cuts of Rs. 5,000 each from their launch prices in India. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is available to buy at Rs. 43,400 in India, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge sports a price tag of Rs. 50,900. Both prices were for the 32GB variants of the smartphones in the country.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were launched in India carrying an MRP of Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900 respectively.
