OnePlus launched the OnePlus 3 this month with massive upgrades in design and specs. The company revealed Graphite and Soft Gold colour variants for the smartphone, but made only the Graphite colour variant available at launch. Co-founder Carl Pei took to Twitter later to confirm that the Soft Gold colour variant will not hit the market before the end of July. Now, a slip-up by OnePlus itself hints that there might be another colour variant in the offing.
The OnePlus 3 (Review) may also be offered in a Red colour variant in the near future. The Red colour option was listed on the OnePlus official website for a brief period, before being pulled down. The Malignant on Twitter was able to get a screenshot of the listing, which also reveals how the OnePlus 3 looks in its Red colour variant. Having a Red colour variant is a rather bold and unique move, and not seen on many flagship smartphones.
The OnePlus 3 Red colour variant will give potential buyers another option to choose from, apart from Graphite and Soft Gold. Of course, there is no official announcement from OnePlus, so we recommend you take the news with a pinch of salt. As mentioned, currently only the Graphite variant is available exclusive on Amazon India for Rs 27,999 without the invite system.
OnePlus 3 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygenOS, and is a dual-SIM smartphone. It features a 5.5-inch display, a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of inbuilt storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera. Lastly, it packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery with Dash Charge, and a fingerprint sensor at the front.
