Now, you can use emojis on Twitter to search local results on Google.
Google has revealed on Twitter that it is now able to interpret emojis via its Twitter handle. Typing an emoji followed by @Google is then responded to with a Google link to all the relevant results in the user’s area.
According to a report by Mashable, the new feature will work with over 200 emojis, including food, sites and activities nearby. The example given in Google’s tweet is that of local burger outlets. Other functions include weather reports after tweeting an umbrella emoji, and even nearby Christmas tree sellers with the corresponding emoji, followed by @Google on Twitter.
Location services must be enabled in order to use the new feature.
