CHANDIGARH: With participation of research scholars and faculty members of social sciences from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh, a two-week orientation programme on “Research Methodology in Social Sciences” will be conducted from February 1 to 13 at Panjab University (PU).
The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), north-western Regional Centre, Panjab University (PU) would conduct the programme.
“The training programme is aimed to develop research capabilities among young faculty and research scholars. It will also introduce the participants to the essential principles, techniques and processes of qualitative and quantitative research,” said honorary director of the Regional Centre, Professor Ronki Ram.
PU vice-chancellor Professor Arun Kumar Grover will inaugurate the programme on February 1 at ICSSR Complex in PU campus.
“The ICSSR North-Western Regional Centre has been conducting such training workshops every year. Such workshops help the researchers to develop capacity for conceptualizing and writing research proposals,” said deputy director, Dr P K Saini.
