BUSINESS SHOWCASE: MYKIDSTIME

Describe the company – the elevator pitch …

Mykidstime is an award winning blog, and one of the most trusted online websites for parents. We are content creators and we provide businesses that want to reach parents with a quality trusted channel to get their message in front of parents.

How are you different?

We focus on high quality content creation that leverages our brand trust on behalf of the partners who work with us. Parents don’t want to be advertised to, but if you help solve a problem, save them time, or even inspire and touch them, then your message is more likely to be seen and engaged with. We work on a variety of digital marketing campaigns with small to medium to large partners, and we use our channels (website, email, social media, app, online magazine) to deliver the message to parents.

Why will you do well?

In the current climate of digital advertising, only trusted brands are going to prevail. Clickbait is going, display ads are being blocked by smartphone users, a good mobile experience with quality content is the key. We’re moving to a scenario where people will only go to the brands they trust because there’s so much noise out there.

Where are you based?

We are based in Galway, which we love, it’s a great place to do business, the tech sector here is thriving, there’s a really solid business eco-system and as they say “The West’s the best”!

When was the company launched?

It’s our 10th birthday! (Happy birthday to us…)

What have been your biggest wins to date?

Winning numerous social media, marketing and content writing awards. Growing a very large and engaged community of parents on social media. We’ve also helped many parents work flexibly from home using technology in an effective way to let them work around their families, that’s something we’re really proud of.

Who are you trying to attract to your product?

Any business who wants to engage with parents for their product or service or brand.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?

Focus on the sales from the start. Leverage partners and networks that you have, small businesses need others to help them grow. Make sure to ask for whatever support you can from local enterprise entities – sometimes mentoring is just as valuable as funding. And don’t take your eye off your cash flow!

Tell us about your team?
